Shboom ?? .....Where did that come from?

When I entered the work force, I started working in the mines. Being 5'6" on a good day, I was assigned with the task of crawling up inside the tight ore chutes to unblock hangups or large chucks of rock that jammed and caused a back up. This was done with carefully, nervously...and gingerly placed explosive charges.
The unwritten job title was "boomer". With not much to do living in a camp, my guitar was my release. Add to that the fact that I was a child of the 50's and "boomer" as I was known around the camp morphed into "shboom". It just seemed to fit, and followed me throughout my mining experience. After leaving the mines, I moved on to related work in heavy equipment, drill rigs, and equipment transport, followed by a 180 degree turn to computer graphics. But music has always been my fall back, my release, my escape. I am self taught on guitar and piano & harp. Available for Lessons |
